Noteworthy Food News: Let’s Eat – European Authentic Taste
Aiming to improve the knowledge and highlight the many health benefits of a Mediterranean diet in Italy, France and Belgium, the Let’s Eat – European Authentic Taste program is promoting an array of colorful fruits as well as quality charcuterie. The campaign’s high-quality flagship products perfectly embody and demonstrate the specific agricultural production methods of EU agri-foods, and show just how delicious and unique they are.
The project is promoted and coordinated by the Association of Agricultural Cooperatives of Imathia in Greece and by the Istituto Valorizzazione Salumi Italiani – IVSI, in Italy.
The campaign will raise awareness about the importance of adding at least five servings of wholesome fruits and vegetables to our daily diet, while keeping the consumption of charcuterie to no more than 150 grams per week. The promoted products are presented and promoted outside their classic consumption context, and instead, used in new, fresh creations with an authentic European taste. The fruits that are part of the Let’s Eat project are cherries, apples, kiwis, peaches and nectarines, while the charcuterie includes classics like prosciutto, salami and pancetta.
The three-year project, running from 2021 until 2024, is co-financed by the European Commission, based on Regulation (EU) 1144/2014.
